Study, design, financing, construction and operation of the first expansion and conversión of existing plant. The first Kiln (Kiln 2) in South America with suspended gas Preheater (KHD model from Germany) and 170,000 MT/year-dry process was installed. Conversion of existing kiln 1 from wet to dry process with 90,000 MT/year and pre-drying of raw material (14% humidity). Total plant capacity 260,000 MT/year. During this stage, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) from Washington D.C. became a shareholder and financer resulting in its first cement investment in the world.
